Drop-in Groups

Drop-in groups are safe places for all MSU students to receive social support and process concerns about interpersonal relationships, academics, social isolation and transitions, and more. Unlike other groups, drop-in groups do not require a group screening or consistent attendance.

  • Creative Expression & Mindful Movement

Everyone receives, relays, and copes with information in their own unique way. Some of us may understand what is going on through music, movement, metaphors, writing, or artistic expression. Tapping into your mind-body connection or creative side may allow you to find a way to express what you're thinking and feeling. In this workshop, we will use mindfulness techniques such as guided meditation, yoga, breathwork and reflective writing and art prompts to physically and artistically capture how we are feeling and express it in a way that honors our unique experience. This group is good for students who are looking to incorporate more self-care activities into their week and/or who are looking for more ways to connect with and process their thoughts and emotions.

No prior yoga, meditation, or artistic experience is required. We will provide yoga mats and art supplies – just bring yourself and wear clothes that you can comfortably move in. This workshop is open to both undergrad and graduate students. This drop-in workshop requires no weekly commitment.
